Leave Policy

Scope

This policy applies to all employees and trainees engaged with the Company (referred to as "Employees" for the purpose of this policy).

Authority Concerned

For any questions, clarifications, or concerns regarding this policy, Employees are required to contact the HR Team. The Company reserves the sole discretion to interpret and clarify the terms of this policy.

Conflict

In the event of any conflict between this policy and the Employee’s employment or engagement agreement with the Company, the terms of the agreement will take precedence.

Objective

Leucine is committed to fostering a healthy work-life balance for its Employees while ensuring operational efficiency. This Leave Policy outlines the types of leave available and the process for applying, enabling Employees to take time off as required.

Types of Leave

Vacation Leave

Entitlement: Employees are entitled to 18 vacation days per calendar year.
Carryover: A maximum of 8 unused vacation days can be carried over to the next calendar year. These carried-over leaves must be utilized by March 31 of the following year, after which they will lapse.
Approval: Vacation leave must be approved in advance by the Employee's reporting manager.

Sick Leave

Entitlement: Employees are entitled to 12 sick days per calendar year.
Carryover: Sick leave does not carry over to the following year and resets annually.
Approval: Employees must notify their reporting manager and team at the earliest in case of sick leave.

Maternity Leave

Entitlement: Female Employees who have completed a minimum of 80 days with the Company are entitled to 26 weeks of paid maternity leave.
Extension: Any extension of maternity leave beyond the paid period will be considered unpaid and will require prior approval from the Employee’s reporting manager and the HR Team.

Compassionate Leave

Entitlement: Employees are entitled to 7 days of compassionate leave per calendar year.
Purpose: Compassionate leave may be availed in case of the death of an immediate family member (parents, siblings, spouse, or children).
Approval: Employees must notify their reporting manager at the earliest when requesting compassionate leave.
Carryover: Compassionate leave does not carry over to the following year and is non-transferable.

Leave Application Process

To ensure seamless operations while accommodating Employees’ time-off needs, the following process must be adhered to:

Application Process:

  • Employees must log in to the Keka HR system.
  • Navigate to Me > Leave > Request Leave.
  • Select the appropriate leave type (Vacation, Sick, Maternity, Compassionate).
  • Enter the leave dates and provide a valid reason.

Approval Requirement:

  • All leave requests must receive explicit approval from the designated reporting manager or HR
  • Leave will only be considered approved upon confirmation within the system.

Non-Compliance & Penalties

Unauthorized absence without approved leave may result in a loss of pay or disciplinary action, as deemed appropriate by the Company. Misuse of leave, such as applying under an incorrect leave category, may lead to rejection of the request and further review by HR.

Special Circumstances and Exceptions

Any deviation from this policy must receive prior approval from the HR Team and the reporting manager. Valid justifications must be provided in such cases.

Confidentiality and Non-Compliance

Employees are required to maintain the confidentiality of leave records and related information. Unauthorized disclosure of personal or internal leave data may result in disciplinary action, including termination of employment.

Review and Amendment

The Company reserves the right to modify this policy as deemed necessary to meet evolving business requirements or comply with legal obligations. Employees will be notified of any significant changes to this policy in due course.
